We have two methods of transport that we use for our members, our Car Scheme and our Minibuses.
Car Scheme
Our volunteer drivers use their own cars to transport members to hospital/doctors/optician or dental appointments. We charge 75p per mile to service users and reimburse volunteers for their expense. Please ring the office on 01943 463965 if you would like to arrange transport – as much advance notice as you can give is much appreciated.
Minibuses
We have two minibuses that we use to transport our members to various activities during the week. We also use them for outings and trips throughout the year. Our minibuses are a lifeline for many of our members, some of whom are wheelchair users and find it difficult to go on social outings without their wheelchair. Our minibuses are accessible and have tail lifts for ease of access. We always have a Passenger Escort Assist on hand to ensure members are looked after from door to door. We charge £6 for transport to our weekly activities. Outings and trips are priced separately, depending on the destination.
In order to retain our transport capability, we have replaced our older minibus with a brand-new bespoke vehicle.
